Shout Out for a Good Educational Blog

Myron Tuman's AudioLinks101 bills itself as "[a]n alternative to the college reader; Audio files for the college composition classroom."

Even if you're not a composition instructor, his posts are interesting and thought-provoking. The most recent makes you ponder the acclaimed HBO series The Wire.

Enjoy.

Ram's Opponents: Fear the Field Goal!

In what should have been a blowout, the Rams kicked SIX, count 'em, six field goals to beat the mighty Denver Broncos yesterday.

At first glance, this ain't no "Greatest Show on Turf," but Wilkins is the MAN. The D was opportunistic and pretty darn strong.

In a major disappointment, however, the Rams fans acted like fools. They booed as Bulger took a knee at the end of the game.

Taking a knee to not run up the score is classy, people. It's what's called the "victory formation." I hope to get used to that play-calling at the end of games this season. Boo all you want, fools.

Cardinals fans can talk all they want how they're the self-appointed best baseball fans in America (a specious claim, at best), but Rams fans need to think more about playing the game correctly rather than worrying about Jackson, Bulger, Holt, or Bruce's fantasy stats.

This article...

provides yet more reasons why the US needs to move toward more renewable forms of energy and more sustainable farming practices. The solution, for many of us, is to by our food locally.

So get your butts to the farmer's markets and help out Missouir and Illinois farmers. And perhaps you'll save some money too.
